What is Ceramics?

Ceramics Meaning

Ceramics materials are manufactured by sintering inorganic materials such as metal oxides, carbides, and nitrides, and are broadly classified into traditional “old” Ceramics —such as refractories—and “fine” Ceramics, which are produced from high-purity raw materials under precisely controlled conditions. With excellent heat resistance, chemical stability, wear resistance, and electrical insulation, it delivers long service life and high reliability in harsh environments—such as high-temperature furnaces, electronic components, and chemical plant components—where metals struggle to perform. Mitsui Kinzoku Ceramics Our division meets the needs of the industry with a wide range of materials and shapes, from refractories to fine Ceramics.
