RS Series (Silicon Nitride-Bonded Silicon Carbide Refractory / SiC)

This is a silicon carbide-based refractory material bonded with silicon nitride. It offers excellent high-temperature strength and thermal shock resistance, maintaining its strength even in harsh environments.

RS series is a high performance material with outstanding hihg-temperature strength, corrosion resistance, and spalling resistance. The high refractroiness and thermal conductivity of SiC combined with the high strength and toughness of silicon nitride (Si₃N₄), makes it resistant to bending strength loss even at high temperature and has excellent penetraion resistance to molten metal and slag. In addition, it has a relatively low coefficient of thermal expansion and high thermal shock resistance, which reduces cracking and defects even in areas subjected to repeated rapid heating and quenching, contributing to longer service life and stable operation of continuous operation furnaces.
RS series has even better properties than NS series.
