Summary
Purification of Molten Aluminum
Standard molten aluminum filtration systems are designed to remove inclusions from molten aluminum and improve product quality; in particular,"degassing" systems are designed to remove hydrogen gas—the primary cause of aluminum quality degradation—by injecting it into the molten metal in the form of fine bubbles of an inert gas (such as argon), causing the hydrogen to rise to the surface and be removed.
To prevent defects in the strength and ductility of aluminum products, both the removal of inclusions and degassing are important.
Mitsui Kinzoku "MetaloClean® TS" is a lifting, rotating, and tilting device specifically designed to reliably and efficiently remove hydrogen gas from molten aluminum.
When used in combination with the “Metafilter®”—which removes impurities—this system provides the highest-purity molten aluminum required to manufacture aluminum products that meet the rolling industry’s demands for “lighter, thinner, stronger, and more formable” products.
