HC-TB composed of titanium and boron is characterized by its extremely high melting point and electrical conductivity comparable to metals. Its high hardness and excellent wear resistance contribute to service life in applications with heavy mechanical loads, such as sliding parts and wear-resistant tools. Furthermore, it exhibits excellent corrosion resistance and impermeability to molten aluminum, making it suitable as a cathode material for aluminum electrolysis and as a component for molten aluminum. It also has relatively high thermal conductivity and is relatively resistant to thermal shock, making it a conductive fine ceramic whose properties are utilized in environments where harsh conditions such as high temperature, high current, and high wear are combined.
