Summary
Silicate-bonded silicon carbide refractory with excellent high-temperature strength and thermal shock resistance
NS series possess high temperature strength and outstanding wear resistance. Combining the high heat resistance and thermal conductivity of SiC with the airtightness and formability provided by a silicate bonding phase, this material is widely used for components that come into contact with molten metal or serve as flow path member.
It also offers relatively high resistance to thermal shock by minimizing cracking in furnace environments subject to drastic temperature fluctuations. It helps extend the furnace's service life and reduce the frequency of maintenance.
